Thank you to everyone who has sponsored so far - it certainly increases the obligation to do the km, as well as supporting an excellent cause. Research is often applied far more widely than just the specific area it starts in - what this fundraising achieves will also likely benefit adults and animals.
Reminder - today is the day when donations are matched - so if you were thinking to - suggest do it today.
As I've reached the fundraising target - I've lifted the km target. I'm now required to do 50% more than I started out to. I'm feeling stronger on the bike though, after a rough start, so here goes.
Remember, if we hit that fundraising target, the km go up again.....
I haven't been on the bike seriously for a couple of years at least.
I'm older and the wear & tear on different body parts is starting to make itself known.
Previously I've set 600km as the target and in 2018 added another 100 to ride 700 in the month.
I'm not confident I can do those km this time - so started with a more achievable 300km. I've lifted it to 380km now, thanks to the support and hitting my initial fundraising target - I'm not quite game to go up in 100km increments.
It's a double edged sword - I love seeing the donations to such a great cause, but each target lift will be more pain.
Ah - we're the lucky ones who can do this.....................
