My Story
This October, I am taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids' cancer!
Because right now, cancer is the largest single killer of children from disease in Australia – over 600 children are diagnosed with cancer every year and sadly, 3 die every week.
Kids should be living life, not fighting for it.
And so I am riding and raising funds to support the Children's Medical Research Institute to continue their work into the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support my challenge by making a donation through my fundraising page to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.
Together, we can save little lives.
Thanks for your support.

6th year challenge
27 Sep 2025After surviving a brain tumour, Tyler signed for Great Cycle Challenge to give back to the community. ✊
In 2017, Tyler had his first seizure during a campground holiday with his family. 😢
Doctors said he had an inoperable stage 4 glioblastoma multiforme, and that Tyler only had 2 months to live. 😞
Searching for a second opinion, he was transferred to a different hospital for an MRI.
A neurologist called a week later to say that the initial prognosis was incorrect, and instead, Tyler had a stage 3 astrocytoma tumour.
The new diagnosis meant Tyler could undergo surgery, and with conventional treatment, he would likely live 5 more years.
Since his surgery in 2019, Tyler has been in remission. 👏
Now, 7 years after diagnosis, Tyler enjoys every moment with his wife and two sons and also volunteers at his local aquarium and dolphin centre. 🐬
He also has a 6-year GCC legacy, and has altogether ridden 2,797 km and raised $3,115 to help kids with cancer - WOW! 🌟🚲
"I survived the most difficult obstacles I’ve ever encountered and decided to give back," he told us. 💪
Tyler, thank you for sharing your incredible story with our community, and for joining our movement to fight kids' cancer. 💙
